Avon Red Cliff

When you're exploring the high Rockies, take yourself on a little out-of-the-way side trip to Red Cliff. This quaint and historic town is situated south of Vail and makes for a stunning ride up Battle Mountain Pass. Getting there is half the pleasure. There are good starting points for hikes and side roads into the wilderness. Lodging in Red Cliff is provided by the Green Bridge Inn, and there's a restaurant right across the street. Whether it's winter or summer, there's a lot to see in and around Red Cliff. Not far from Camp Hale and Leadville, you can spend your vacation in this interesting part of the Colorado high country.
